PROJECTED YEAR OF COMPLETION: 2020
What's Proposed ADCUI?
Proposed African Diaspora Credit Union Initiative(A.D.C.U.I) is a not-for-profit financial institution project initiated by African Diaspora Council, Inc. whose members will pool their resources as shareholders to make personalized financial services easily accessible for the purpose of strengthening themselves and the members of the community. It shall enable the African Diaspora Communities to participate in self-help, wealth building and wealth management and provide education programs which will benefit other communities.
Proposed African Diaspora Credit Union Initiative has a “NO ONE LEFT BEHIND” Approach.
Why Proposed A.D.C.U.I?
After meticulous research we have found that a high percentage of Africans in the United State have no retirement plan and no savings. Analysis shows that in a few years, when most of our community members retire, their number one concern is how they will survive financially in the U.S. or their country of origin. Some wonder whether they will live in shelters or go homeless. This quagmire is directly linked to the inability of the community at large and its members to fund ideas, businesses, non-profits, and long term projects in order to serve the community and create jobs.
What's ADC, Inc. Solution?
Our mission is to create a financial institution (the credit union) owned by peoples of African heritage. The credit union will promote financial education and autonomy, offer financial solutions to African entrepreneurs, and give community members the opportunity to invest. In short, our main objective is to mobilize Africans and African Americans in the Diaspora into a viable economic force.
